Wash Basin at Alfred Parsons

Aunt Kate's grandson who is sitting in the washbasin that sat in the east upstairs bedroom at Alfred's.

The washstand is also from that bedroom as was the pitcher. Kate has them now. Thus, they used to belong to your great grandmother Parson's. Will Engle is sitting on the little potty that we five McClintic's used. Remember, we had no indoor plumbing till I married so we only used the outside privy, the little potty and the little 'white owl' which sat in Mom's bedroom closet in the winter time. I can still smell the 'aroma' that clung to the closet and clothes. Good thing there was a lot of fresh air outside in those days otherwise church members would have been given a hearty dose of a bathroom yukky smell. Perhaps they all had it and no one noticed anyone else's peculiar odor. The 'little white owl' is now sitting on the Master bathroom sink and it is full of flowers. I also have a metal bedpan that came from Mom's which probably belonged to Grandma Parson's since she was bedridden for so many years. It is full of flowers and hangs in the potty room of our bedroom. Could put magazines in it, come to think of it.
